Pretty Cool

I received the following message in my inbox today from one of my grad profs...I think that this is pretty awesome!!

"I want to share with you some exciting news.

Several years ago, the Art History Department was included for the first time among the evaluation process by "Academic Analytics." As a relatively young PhD program, AH had finally accumulated enough degrees to be ranked officially. "Academic Analytics" ranks the quality of PhD programs by measuring the scholarly productivity of faculty using their book and journal publications, journal article citations, federally-funded research grants, and honorific awards.

The results have just come out:

For '06-7:
Art History was ranked 4th at Temple among the University's more than 50 PhD programs.
Art History was ranked 11th out of the 57 national Art History Doctoral Programs,

For '07-8 (AA's latest statistical result):
Art History was ranked 1st at Temple among the University's more than 50 PhD programs.
Art History was ranked 2nd out of the 62 national Art History Doctoral Programs.

This national ranking is the highest of any PhD program at Temple.

Art History is extraordinarily proud of this achievement. It is a testimony to the dedication, hard-work, and commitment of this highly productive department.

Best,
Dr. Silk"

Awesome, awesome, awesome!
