The start had us heading up and over the Ben Franklin Bridge from Philly to New Jersey! It was actually pretty cool to ride over the bridge. Although, the cross wind coming down the back side of the bridge was a bit scary at times! :)
We're all so happy at the start! Here's Dee, Sally, Becca, and Ilyana.
My photos are a little out of order...Here's Jenny and Dana before the start. Basking in the glory of Jenny's birthday and the beautiful morning that we had in Philly!
Here's Luly, George, and Dana heading over the hill of the bridge. Ha, George...I got you! :)
We headed out into the Pine Barrens of Jersey. After 70 miles, we had reached the "finish" with our only issue coming when we accidently left a rest stop without Becca! BIG OOPS! Sally and I went back for her and TT'd her up to the rest of the group. About 10 miles of pulling at 20-21 mph steady state. It was a great workout! :)
Of course, we're STURDY, so we were hardly content to stop at 70 miles. After all, we were in Buena Vista, NJ with no cars to get us back to Philly and other locations in NJ. SO, we hopped back on the cycles after lunch to begin the 40 mile trek back to Jenny's house in Cherry Hill! 6 hours and 24 minutes later, we had completed our day with 110 miles of beautiful riding!
It was a great way to spend a beautiful Sunday and was really nice to end up at Jenny's house with her wonderfully refreshing pool and a few beers! Great day!
