BUT, the big tragedy came with my boy, Stuey! Stuart O'Grady took a terrible spill while returning to his teammates with watter bottles from the cars. According to the CSC website...his condition stands as follows..."O'Grady was in bad shape and was taken straight to hospital for observation after the crash. The Australian rider landed on his right side and punctured one lung, broke his collarbone, shoulder blade, five ribs as well as some bones in his spine."
I was nearly in tears watching him get loaded into the ambulance with his neck and back braced.
He was not the only rider to leave the Tour yesterday. All in all, eight riders are out of the race...including Robbie McEwen, Mick Rogers, and Stuey. Best wishes to Stuey and Mick for speedy recoveries.
